Carved Cherry Cane
Very unusual carved cherry cane, American, last half of the 19th Century. The carved stylized African American head is finely rendered. The back side has a carving of a woman leaning on a pedestal, very similar to women in 19th Century mourning pictures. The connection between the figures is unknown but very interesting. Height: 36.
