Fine painted two-drawer blanket chest, pine, New York State, circa 1820-40. Red paint outlines drawers with corner quadrants and frames sponge decorated central panels on a yellow ground. Height: 44 ½; Width: 40 ½; Depth: 18 ½. Condition: Small area of paint loss, no in-painting. Brasses replaced in original holes.
