Rare and important portrait of a woman, oil on paper, circa 1810, by the noted Maine portrait artist, Benjamin Greenleaf (1769-1821).The majority of Greenleaf's portraits are painted profiles on glass, bust length. Only a few are painted on canvas. This portrait has nearly all other attributes of Greenleaf portraits. 17 3/4" x 13" including frame.
