Rare Shenandoah pottery match holder in brilliant yellow, green and brown glaze, attributed to Eberly Pottery, Strasburg, VA, c. 1890. Ht. 3 5/8". Condition: Chip to base. Note: This form would initially suggest an eggcup, but the flaring rim and unglazed inside lower half indicates otherwise. A match holder makes the most sense. Base bears label of the George S. McKearin collection #598.
