Whimsy
Wonderful cherry carved whimsy lidded container in mellow old color, American, probably New York State, circa 1860. The lid has an acorn finial above the two-tiered, double reeded top. The base consists of a reeded urn with hanging oak & beech leaves above a four-posted arcade housing a floating carved ball sitting on a lobed base. Ht. 10 1/4".
