Small Massachusetts Queen Anne veneered highboy, c. 1720-30, maple and pine with walnut crotched veneers on drawer fronts. Condition: Replaced brasses; where drops were was notched long ago; minor repairs. Provenance: Collection of Philip Flayderman, Anderson Galleries, NYC (1930) # 489 (see catalogue). Dimensions: ht. 65 1/2"; width 36" (lower case), 34" (upper case), 37 1/2" (top molding); depth: 20" (lower case). Note: A similar highboy is illustrated in Sack, Fine Points of American Furniture pg. 177 as "best."
