Swedish Market Armorial
Famille rose soup plate with armorial decoration for the Swedish market, circa 1745-1750, made for Anders Bachmanson Nordencrantz. He ordered the service after he was ennobled in 1743. This service is pictured in The Swedish Exhibition of Chinese Porcelain at the Palace Museum (Beijing, 2005) #82. A related essay describes him as an industrialist and further describes the symbols of the unusual border. Excellent condition. Dia. 9 1/8". (Two other plates available.)
