Excellent English slip-cast double-handled stoneware salt-glazed sauce-boat, Staffordshire, c. 1750. The complex molded panels flanking the bands are composed of faces and floral motifs supported by ribbed baskets. Condition: Two small hairlines, one in the making next to the top of one handle. Chip to one handle. Very minor defects to the bottom edge, mostly in the making. Ht. 2 3/4"; L. 6 3/4" (spouts); W. 5" (handles).
